FlixBus is Europe’s largest bus operator and has launched their much-anticipated services in South India. It marks a significant milestone on the company’s expansion in India.
FlixBus will begin operating six key routes on September 10 connecting Bengaluru to Chennai and Hyderabad. This initial launch will connect Bengaluru with 33 cities, offering more than 200 connections. Popular destinations such as Vijayawada and Madurai are included.
In February of this year, the German bus company began its operations in India. This was the company’s 43rd country in the world. The initial phase started on February 6, with over 200 daily stops in 46 Indian towns, including Ayodhya. Lucknow, Dehradun. Manali and Jodhpur. Delhi was the hub. This expansion to South India marks their second phase, solidifying FlixBus’ presence in the country.
Daniel Krauss (Co-founder of FlixBus) shared the excitement of the company, saying, “With this launch FlixBus operates in 33 cities throughout South India, bringing FlixBus’ total network to 101 nationwide.” This expansion is an important step in our mission to provide sustainable, technology-driven, and accessible transportation across India.
Surya Khurana emphasized this move by saying:
“Following successful operations in North India expanding to South India will revolutionize intercity travel.”

It’s not just about adding new routes, but also about empowering local operators through our digital platform. This will ensure seamless travel for passengers and contribute to a more environmentally friendly environment.
FlixBus plans to introduce more routes in Andhra Pradesh as well as Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala. These routes will help FlixBus further establish its presence on the Indian Market.
