MOMBASA, Kenya (eTN) – Four people died when a small passenger plane crashed on the runway in Kenya’s renowned Masai Mara national park.

MOMBASA, Kenya (eTN) – Four people died when a small passenger plane crashed on the runway in Kenya’s renowned Masai Mara national park. The plane flew to Masai Mara from the city of Mombasa and crashed during a landing attempt.

There were 11 foreign tourists on board of the aircraft: five Germans, two Americans and two Czechs. Two Kenyan pilots and two German tourists were killed, according to emergency workers. Six passengers were seriously injured in the crash.

According to local officials, the crashed plane belonged to Mombasa Air Safari company. The aircraft, a Czech-made twin-turbo propeller LET-410, can carry between 17 and 19 passengers.
