The Egyptian Tourism begins to recover and returns to its normal level, said Tourism Minister Hisham Zazou at the opening of a workshop on tourism here in Hurghada on 1/9/2012. Zazou stressed the importance of holding the annual conference of the German conglomerate travel agencies in the Red Sea resort of el-Gouna during the current critical period in Egypt.

Europe will remain Egypt’s key partner in the tourism sector, Zazou said, underlining that the number of German tourists in the first six months of 2012 hit 500,000, with a 33.6 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

The tourist nights reached 6.7 million, with a 40 per cent rise compared to the same period last year, the minister added. He further disclosed that a series of meetings would be held with experts in the private sector to draw up a strategy for the Egyptian tourism and solve problems facing the tourism industry.
