San Francisco Airport recently welcomed back in rare form Starwoods 62nd property. There was no doubt, especially to the San Franciscans attending the opening, ‘aloft’ A Vision of the W Hotels, was much needed and a sure crowd pleaser.

The once 250 room Starwood Hotels and Resorts was in badly needed updates when along came the companies new vision for today’s contemporary traveler that included an up do using a modern and sleek design and marrying it with a jet setting style and a vibrant social scene and finally, giving it a name that is as intriguing as the entire refurbished property, aloft.

Aloft caters to the next generation of travelers as it redefines the select service category by pairing tech savvy design with design-oriented products. Even the food is merchandised as a visually exciting attraction.

Holding back nothing when it comes to celebrations, Starwood President and CEO Frits van Paasschen and two of this top executives joined in with the mayor and city officials as they christened the new hotel with music, food and enough eye candy to keep guests busy throughout the evening discovering the little pleasures offered by aloft.

Joining Sandy Dhuyvetter on BusinessTravelRADIO this next week is one of the executives from Starwood, Brian McGuinness, Sr. VP Specialty Select Brands at Starwoods who has been working with the aloft brand since its inception. During the conversation you will find out how the 60 plus alofts around the world are making a statement from Bangkok to Brussels and why they just might be the coolest hotel on the planet. http://www.starwoodhotels.com/development
