LONDON, England – Australia is one of the most sought-after destinations in the world, according to the results of a recent poll.

The poll, conducted by travel publication Virtuoso Life, asked over 5,000 readers their opinions; in addition to topping the list of “Dream Destinations”, Australia also made the destination short list in the “Top Family Getaway” and “Ocean-Cruising” categories, and Sydney was named one of the world’s “Go-to Style and Design Capitals”.

Travel comparison expert dealchecker.co.uk says that cheap flights to Australia are more readily available than ever. The rise of major international transport hubs in the Middle East and Far East, such as Dubai and Singapore, has made connecting flights to Australia easier for airlines to offer; this ensures that airfares stay competitive, and dealchecker.co.uk’s comparison tool helps travellers find the best long-haul airfare deals.

Those considering flights to Australia for a dream holiday can enjoy many of the adventurous activities which the poll reveals as favourites, including visiting national parks, walking, snorkelling, scuba diving and whale-watching.

Mark Attwell, MD of dealchecker.co.uk, comments: “It is no surprise that Australia is a dream destination for holidaymakers – the country’s varied landscape, natural beauty and vibrant cities are second to none.

“The Great Barrier Reef is one of the most incredible natural wonders in the world, and Sydney offers a cultural buzz to rival London and New York. Add stunning beaches, abundant wildlife, family friendly resorts and a huge variety of affordable activities, and it’s easy to see why a holiday in Australia is the stuff of dreams.”
