On this important day marked by each and every country which considers tourism as a key industry, it is important to appeal to the six islands of the Indian Ocean Vanilla islands to commit even more that what has been done in the past to move the region’s tourism industry forward.
Seychelles, La Reunion, Mauritius, Madagascar, Mayotte, and Comoros have showed the spirit of togetherness by joining forces in a new regional body. This spirit of togetherness will benefit the people of our respective islands as we strengthen the tourism potentials of our region.
In this Tourism Week 2012 we need to pat ourselves on the back for having not only the determination, but the courage, to unite for the cause of tourism.
Our work will be more seen and will be appreciated as we work with other world bodies such as the UNWTO. Let us all continue to believe in ourselves and in the work we are doing for our people and for our islands.
Happy tourism week to all the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands.
