The Seychelles delegation, on a working mission in Sao Paulo in Brazil, met with Pedro Rossini of Qatar Airways and discussed the way forward to increase visitor numbers for Seychelles from Brazil. The Seychelles delegation in Brazil is headed by Alain St.Ange, the island’s Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, and he is accompanied by David Germain, the Seychelles Tourism Board’s Director for Africa and the Americas, and Myra Fanchette, the Board Marketing Executive for Africa and the Americas.
At the Qatar Airways meeting, the Seychelles delegation was accompanied by Luiz Picollo, the Seychelles Consul based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and by Gisele Abrahao from the GVA Tourism Company.
Pedro Rossini of Qatar Airways in Sao Paulo has reassured the Seychelles delegation when he welcomed them to his offices that Qatar Airways remains committed to increase trade to Seychelles and that they remain prepared to work closely with the Seychelles Tourism Office responsible for the Americas.
Brazil has increased its outbound traveler numbers, and it was confirmed during the discussions that it was important for new destinations like the Seychelles to be more visible than it had been. Support for press and travel trade visits to Seychelles was also discussed.
Qatar Airways flies directly to Doha from Brazil and after the one stop directly on to Seychelles where they serve the mid-ocean islands with a daily flight.
