The Minister for Tourism & Culture, Mr. Alain St.Ange, will on Friday, September 7, launch a world and a Seychelles “first” in tourism hospitality.

Minister St.Ange will officially launch the “seyGO Visitor Pack” to leading tourism industry professionals and government partners at Eden Island’s Bravo Restaurant at 6:00 pm.

The seyGO Guide will have Seychelles’ largest print run for any tourism publication – at 60,000 copies every 4 months totaling 180,000 copies – and its leading sponsor of “seyGo” is Airtel Telecom Seychelles, which will at regular intervals give away a total of 60,000 free mobile SIM cards with SR25 built in.

As from September 2012, all visitors to Seychelles will receive upon arrival a special “goodie” bag containing a printed 64-page “seyGO” publication offering visitors ideas of what to do and where to go; a free map of the main tourism islands; a free voucher for entrance into the “Tequila Boom” nightclub; a voucher for a free welcome drink at Eden Island’s Bravo Restaurant, and discounts on boating and diving outlets.

As a star prize, visitors and locals who pledge US$50 will also have the chance to win a trip of a lifetime to Aldabra every year, valued at US$75,000 and sponsored by the Seychelles Island Foundation (SIF); the national airline, Air Seychelles; and the producers of seyGO, the Seychelles-based multimedia company, iSEYco.

The seyGO Guide will also be backed up with a mobile phone app, which will keep visitors and locals alike updated on upcoming events, and also have a back-up website.

The seyGO Guide will also be inviting visitors to rate hospitality establishments and services so that Seychelles has a better idea how its tourism products are received.

Minister St. Ange said: “This is a great result of innovation from a local company and the foresight of one of our key communication providers.

“It’s a big step up in offering our visitors better value for money.”
